ZDHC Mini Academy
The Importance of Chemical Management
The main objective of this page is to create a place where participants can easily find links to the information and tools referenced at the ZDHC afternoon session at the 2017 Manufacturer Forum.
After Planet Textiles on May 24th, SAC and ZDHC meet global manufacturers as they co-host the 2017 Manufacturer Forum on May 25th. This is the first time ZDHC engages with a significant profile in the Indian textile, leather and footwear sector.
The first half of the Forum includes insights shared by SAC, including an overview of key SAC programmes and updates as well as discussions on the value, usage and benefits of the Higg Index as a strategic business tool.
The afternoon is dedicated to ZDHC and chemical management, which is the number one topic of interest for manufacturers. We are delivering an exciting, interactive agenda for the afternoon, which has been designed to bring ZDHC tools to life for participants.
At 17:30, please join us after the Forum at the cocktail reception in the Grand Ballroom. Guests will network with colleagues and industry professionals and the ZDHC team will be delighted to talk with you there.
The ZDHC Academy
In December 2016, ZDHC launched the ZDHC Academy. The ZDHC Academy, powered by the FTA Academy, is designed to empower brands, chemical suppliers, manufacturers and other intermediaries to receive certified training to improve their knowledge and practice of responsible chemical management and to implement tools such as the ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL) and the Wastewater Guidelines.
The training sessions are delivered by ZDHC Accredited Training Providers and are developed to meet the training needs of the textile, leather and footwear value chain. The sessions on offer cover fundamental level training - an Introduction to Chemical Management, and guidance on the implementation of ZDHC tools for brands, chemical suppliers, manufacturers and other intermediaries. The ZDHC Academy will expand with additional courses and e-learning possibilities to support the implementation of ZDHC standards and tools, as they are rolled out.
To reach as many learners as possible, we offer courses in a range of countries and local languages. Sessions are currently available in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Turkey, Vietnam and Italy. Learners can search for sessions; register; download pre-workshop material and contact trainers directly, to enhance the learning experience. After successful completion of the online exam, learners can download a certificate of completion.

The first course on offer is an Introduction to Chemical Management in the textile and footwear industry. This course is aimed at factory managers and other personnel responsible for dyeing, printing, chemical purchasing, ETP, EHS, quality assurance as well as sustainability. It is particularly helpful for people who work at wet processing facilities (such as a dyehouse, printing, laundries and tanneries) or those working in a similar capacity within the textile and footwear industries.

The ZDHC Gateway - Chemical Module
The ZDHC Gateway delivers the largest database of safer sustainable chemistry in the textile, leather and footwear industry.
