Welcoming Carhartt WIP to the ZDHC Signatory Community

May 28, 2026

New Signatory Friend of ZDHC Brand

In April 2026, the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme welcomed Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) as a new Signatory Friend Brand, bringing a label shaped by workwear heritage, cultural influence and an evolving sustainability agenda into the community working towards safer chemistry and more responsible production.

Established in 1994, Carhartt WIP adapts and reinterprets the core products of the workwear brand Carhartt to create its own collections. Over the past three decades, it has built a distinct identity at the intersection of clothing, music, skateboarding, art and contemporary design, with more than 100 retail stores across Europe, Asia and the US.

The brand's sustainability page outlines its sustainability approach through three pillars — Product, Planet and People — and presents progress as an ongoing responsibility, which aligns with its wider focus on long-term relationships with suppliers,  traceability of its products and more responsible material choices.

Within this context, joining the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme strengthens Carhartt WIP’s sustainability strategy by providing a globally recognised framework for chemical management. It supports the company’s efforts to align with industry standards, improve supply-chain transparency and reduce hazardous substances through standardised tools, reporting and collaboration with suppliers.

As Carhartt WIP enters the ZDHC Signatory Community, its existing focus on long-term relationships with suppliers, traceability of its products and more responsible material choices provides a strong foundation for advancing its chemical management strategy.
