Welcoming Vivienne Westwood SRL to the ZDHC Signatory Community

April 22, 2026

New ZDHC Signatory Brand

In April 2026, the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme welcomed Vivienne Westwood SRL as a new Signatory Brand transitioning from Signatory Friend Brand, adding a bold, values‑driven voice in fashion to the global community working for safer chemistry and responsible supply chains across the textile, apparel, leather, and footwear sector.

Founded in London and operating worldwide, Vivienne Westwood is an independent British fashion house known for its distinctive design aesthetic, cultural impact, and long‑standing commitment to environmental and social responsibility. The British fashion house offers men’s and women’s ready‑to‑wear, including bridal and couture collections, as well as accessories, footwear, and jewellery. Its Italian branch, based in Milan, serves as the Southern European headquarters and oversees a large part of global operations, from R&D to worldwide distribution. Vivienne Westwood already emphasises material sourcing, supply‑chain due diligence, and circularity, reusing leftover fabrics and deadstock in new designs and organising surplus materials for reuse, recycling, or donation. The house also has a track record of chemical‑management engagement, including a past chemicals‑improvement process with Texmoda Tessuti, one of Greenpeace’s Detox‑supporting partners, aimed at reducing hazardous substances in production.

Joining the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme aligns naturally with Vivienne Westwood’s existing work on supply‑chain audits, traceability pilots, and governance frameworks, including its Modern Slavery suite and participation in a blockchain‑based cotton pilot project under the UNECE Sustainability Pledge from 2019 to 2021. Through ZDHC, the British fashion house can further embed safer chemistry and water‑related best practices into its broader sustainability strategy.

The safety of our consumers and end-users, the environment and its wildlife is of utmost importance to Vivienne Westwood. Joining an initiative that brings together brands, suppliers, and diverse experts is a key step in advancing our strategy for the safe use of chemicals in our products and for safeguarding workers, our community, and the environment.

With Vivienne Westwood’s entry into the ZDHC Signatory Community, the programme continues to grow a diverse network of brands that are united by a shared commitment to safer chemistry, responsible production, and transparent supply chains. Their addition reinforces the role of ZDHC as a collaborative organisation with whom brands can build on existing sustainability efforts and scale impact across the global value chain.
