Reformation as ZDHC Friend Brand
Founded in 2009, Reformation (Ref) is a global lifestyle brand on a mission to bring sustainable fashion to everyone. The brand combines vintage-inspired apparel with eco-friendly business practices, releasing limited-edition collections twice weekly online and once weekly in stores. Reformation’s ultimate goal is to have a positive impact on people and the planet, and prove that sustainability and profitability can coexist in fashion. While low-impact measures are incorporated into every aspect of its operations, the company’s efforts ladder up to two hero commitments: becoming Climate Positive by 2025 and Circular by 2030. The brand has also established itself as a leader in retail innovation, pioneering a proprietary tech-enabled store concept that brings the best of its online experience to its physical doors. Today, Reformation employs 1,300+ team members, operates 60+ stores and ships its products to nearly every country in the world.
One way they work to eliminate waste and pollution in their supply chain is by ensuring responsible chemical management practices are used when making their products. In the last year, they introduced a Cleaner Chemistry Supplier Roadmap for their supply chain partners that highlights their priorities for sustainable chemistry – such as eliminating hazardous chemicals from wet processing - so that their products are even safer for people and the planet.
With support from ZDHC, they can effectively tailor and implement a supplier engagement strategy that reflects the unique needs of their suppliers and their current stage in their sustainable chemistry journey. They will be able to leverage the array of available tools from ZDHC, such as the Gateway to monitor the use of ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substance List (MRSL) conformant chemicals and/or the Roadmap to Zero Programme that provides suppliers with comprehensive guidance to improve their chemical management.
