ZDHC South Asia region along with PHDCCI organised a workshop in Delhi on 27th February at the PHDCCI auditorium. This workshop was organised for the suppliers and formulators in Delhi to educate them on the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero programme and how to implement the same in 2024.
The Welcome Address was given by Mr. Madhu Bhageria, Chair of the Textile Committee, PHDCCI and he emphasised the importance of controlling hazardous chemicals and urged the industry to adopt the COP26 compliance measures. Mr Prasad Pant discussed the Overview of ZDHC Roadmap to Zero programme and Mr Saket Kulkarni presented the implementation of ZDHC programme using the Platform.
Mr. Mithilesh Kumar from PHDCCI discussed the growing importance of sustainability in the textile industry and the services offered by the PHDCCI Centre for Sustainability, including BRSR auditing, ESG assessments, and water stewardship programs.
Dr. Srikanta K. Panigrahi, Director General, Indian Institute of Sustainability & Former Secretary Govt of India, the Chief Guest, of the workshop shared insights on government initiatives on sustainable practices.
Mr. Rakesh Kumar Sangrai, Director, PHDCCI emphasised the workshop's collaborative nature and its focus on protecting human health, safeguarding the environment and promoting sustainable practices in the textile industry.
